Can Junkie
He's a can junkie
Pickin' up the cans along the road
He's a can junkie
I wonder when he'll ever go home
Now it's a good thing to recycle
Clean up the world before it's too late
And Papa's making pennies going cannin'
Enough to keep him going out that gate
Perhaps you saw him last time you went camping
Asking for your empty cans of beer
Or maybe when you threw that all night party
Save him your cans and he'll say he didn't hear.
Be careful when you drink a beer at his house
He'll take your can before you finished it
Remember where he keeps the can bag
He'll crush them oft enough that it will fit.
Mama's got his picture in the parlor
The grandkids so will all be here
Papa's figured how to go cross country
On other people's cans of beer.
